FSG's Corporate Social Responsibility programme

Hafal

2020 was an extremely difficult year, causing many people to struggle with their mental health. FSG wanted to support Hafal (a pan Wales mental health organisation) and as a result decided to sponsor one of their many projects.

The project FSG chose to support was Project Evolve, which provides an inviting space which encourages social inclusion and integration. Young men can come together in a stigma-free environment and share their experiences through music. Project Evolve provides an opportunity to:

  • Meet new friends
  • Build confidence
  • Learn to play a musical instrument
  • Develop new skills
  • Become a peer mentor
  • Gain accreditations in music
  • Feel socially included.

The benefits of music:

Throughout history and in every society around the world, music has allowed people to express their feelings and communicate with others. The positive connection between music and mental and physical health has been well documented.

Who can access Project Evolve?

The project is open to young men between the ages of 14-20 years who have an interest in music and are engaged with one of the Early Intervention Psychosis teams within the four local health board areas across South Wales.
